Mancos holds the title of Colorado's longest continuously operating High School! The current high school building was built in 1909 and completely remodeled in 2020, along with the rest of the school campus, including several new buildings and a new turf football field (Mancos High School 8-Man Football State Champions 2023!!). The high school is becoming known for its Project Based Learning (PreK - 12), and high school students explore career pathways alongside traditional classes. The school has an on-site welding shop for students to learn the trade; students graduate high school with a degree AND a Welding Certification. Several students have completed training and have earned FAA Drone Pilot certifications! The school district is currently looking to plan a medical training area and offer training towards nursing certifications.

Then, there's the Columbine Bar & Grill, the local legend and watering hole. The 'Bine, once known for its wild side (let's just say it's seen its share of excitement!), has transformed into a welcoming social hub. Now, the biggest thrill you'll find is meeting friends and savoring their amazing homemade ice cream – a true taste of small-town magic.
